The European Day of Languages

The European Day of Languages

The European Day of  Languages  is celebrated across Europe every year. It aims to promote the rich linguistic diversity of Europe and raise awareness of the importance of lifelong language learning for everyone. It was set up by the Council of Europe and was first celebrated in 2001. We also  celebrated the day with the students to use this opportunity to raise the profile of languages in our school.

The European Day of  Languages is also a time to celebrate the 6,000+ languages spoken around the world, promote language learning and have some multilingual fun!

To mark the occasion, we organised a huge event in our school with  many different attractions for the students. There were different games,  language quizzes, many stalls where students could try various dishes. Students could also participate in a dance workhop where they had the opportunity to learn how to dance different European styles. The number of students who took part in the event was fifty students.
